Abstract

This paper describes the laws, current trends and issues of personnel records in China. In the first place, hierarchical management system of National Archive in China based on administrative divisions, each division's function and responsibility are introduced. Then, summary of personnel records based on the basis law, Archives Law of Republic of China, is shown. After indicating the difference of family register system between in Japan and China, the paper gives explanations on management of personnel records. Finally, it points out some issues such as incomprehensible and opaque management system, incompleteness of registration standards.
