Abstract

It is nearly two decades since the then National Archives of Canada approved the Macroappraisal Strategy as its organizational policy. Since then, there have appeared some variations of the Macroappraisal in the Netherlands and Australia and that of the Federal Government of Canada has constantly been changed and reformed. The Archival Science vol. 5 nos. 2-4 featured the Macroappraisal and published articles written by authors from countries such as Canada, the Netherland, Australia and New Zealand, including Terry Cook, who was a "founder" of the Macroappraisal in Canada. This article is a "literature review" of the articles on Macroappraisal. It is also a consideration on the appraisal of records and its past, present and future.
