Cretaceous Ulsan granite related to Ulsan iron deposit is located in the southeastern corner of the Gyeongsang basin, Korea. In the basin, most of the metallic deposits are largely distributed in a zonal pattern of copper-iron, lead-zinc and tungsten-molybdenum toward inland, and there are distinctive differerces in chemical and mineralogical compositions of the Cretaceous granitoids among those different metallogenic provinces. 21 rock samples of Ulsan granite were chemically analysed. It shows that Ulsan granite has high differentiation index (D.1.=85-95), Iow content of CaO(≤;1.5wt.%), MgO(≤;0.5wt.%) and Sr(≤;120ppm), and distinctive relationships of Rb-K, Cu-Fe and Rb/Sr-K/Rb, which are distinguishable from those of Jindong and Onjongri granites located in copper province and lead-zinc province respectively in the Gyeongsang basin.
