Abstract

A case of von Recklinghausen's disease with intra oral and mandibular lesion was reported.<BR>A 11-year-old boy was referred to our department with swelling in the left mandible area. His mother and grandfather were diagnosed von Recklinghausen's disease. The patient had many cafe-aulait spots extending all over the body and mass of gingiva in the _??_45 apexs region, which was 10×30mm in size. Radiological examination showed an ill-defined radiolusent area in the same region, which was the tip of a thumb in size. Clinical diagnosis was a neurofibroma and von Recklinghausen's disease suspection. On the same day, extirpation of the tumor was carried out under the local anesthesia. The histopathological diagnosis was neurofibroma. Finally, neurofibroma with von Recklinghausen's disease was judged.
