Description
As Jung said “Only because of this psychic “otherness” is consciousness possible at all. Identity does not make consciousness possible; it is only separation, detachment, and agonizing confrontation through opposition that produce consciousness and insight (CW 9i, par.289),” differentiation is indispensable to produce consciousness. This paper presents a case study of the therapeutic process of a woman with emetophobia, focusing on which structure would appear in the undifferentiated client’s dreams. It is also considered how the dream process would develop when the undifferentiated client, who initially lets nature take its course, is given Subjectivity by the Other, in a manner that could be differentiated. Thus, she herself could then learn to integrate what brings out Subjectivity and she would be able to think in her own right. Consequently, the structure of circulation would arise within Subjectivity, which would make herself differentiate from the natural ways that restrain her with concreteness and inevitability.
