Abstract

This study analyzes the current state of pork exports by agricultural production corporations and related issues by reviewing the case of Izunuma nousan.<br>The data used in the study are based on the results of fieldwork conducted among various agricultural production corporations in Miyagi province, Japan.<br>The findings are as follows:<br>(1) Japanese pork continued to be exported despite infectious disease, a strong yen, and severe situations.<br>(2) The differentiation strategy of Japanese pork has permeated by focusing on the wealthy in Hong Kong.<br>(3) Although the earthquake and subsequent nuclear power plant accident temporarily suspended exports to Hong Kong, exports have recovered.
