説明

Devised and completed by Kawasaki Dockyard, the "Remotegraph" No.1 has just commenced its operation. It is a mechanical equipment for full-size marking and cutting by basing upon the miniature drawing on the 1/10 scale, such operations being carried out by remote control. It is indeed a high-speed machine especially with the principal object of marking. Dissatisfied with the existing "Monopol" and "Sicomat" which are slow-speed equipments mainly for gas cutting, the authors had been studying to turn out improved one for some time. Realizing that marking is not much limited by speed unlike gas cutting system, the authors hit upon the idea of perfecting the aforementioned equipment. With the appearance of this improved mechanical equipment, the manual processing method has been replaced with the improved system of using miniature molding, automatic marking by means of "Remotegraph" and cutting on the conveyor. The authors believe that the new device has brought about fast rationalization in the hull fabrication shop.
