Description
Rolling characteristics of a floating body, such as a ship, a buoy and so on, among waves change considerab1y when wind blows simultaneously. Most conspicuous is the decrease in amplitude. The present report is an attemot to prove the mechanism of change of characteristics that the mutual interaction of wind velocity and rolling linear velocity makes the amplitude decrease and that the slope of the wind moment curve against the heeling angle of a body causes the apparent stability to the rolling of the body.
