Description
In industrial gas-liquid contactors such as a plate column the condition of constant gas flow is not necessarily satisfied, but bubbles forming at orifices interact with gas in the chamber.<BR>This paper concerns the bubble volume formed at single circular holes under the effect of chamber volume. The bubble volume in low gas flow rate region is evaluated on the assumption that pressure fluctuation in the chamber is so rapid that the process is adiabatic, and the bubble volume in high gas flow rate region is calculated by modifying the theory obtained by authors for constant gas flow. Application of the additiveness of both volumes is made and shows that the correlation is experimentally confirmed at least approximately.
