Abstract
Fuzzy control is adopted for an exothermic batch reactor for which operation is most difficult in chemical processes.<BR>Both simulation and experiments are carried out for a cellulose pyrolysis reactor. Results showed that a nonlinear control algorithm derived from fuzzy control theory is useful in the operation of a batch reactor and that a control parameter tuning rule similar to PID control is also needed for fuzzy control.
