Abstract
The performance of a commercial heat pipe was investigated both experimentally and theoretically. The effects of the temperature difference, the surface area ratio, and the operational conditions on the performance of a heat pipe were studied.<BR>Here, the heat flow rate and the vapor temperature were estimated on a ready-made commercial heat pipe. Consequently, its performance varied several times with operational conditions.<BR>Theoretical consideration of the mathematical model and several nomographs are also presented. This work is applicable to the design and use of heat pipes in the field.
