Description
Oil hammerg enerates much greater pressure than that is supplied to the pipe line. The author intended to utilize this pressure rise phenomenon and invented an intensifier on a new principle which can convert oil pressure into a value more than six times higher by means of oil hammer. <br>The new intensifierh as the followinga dvantageso ver the usual intensifier which consists of two cylinders of different areas. <br>(1) The device is simple and can be made at low cost. <br>(2) Controlling of output pressure and starting and stopping of the intensifier can be done by switching ON and OFF one solenoid controlled valve. <br>In the present research, the new intensifier is applied to an oil cylinder. First, a pressure vessel is examined as the model of the oil cylinder. The theoretical results calculated numerically predict accurately the experimental results. The approximate expression is derived and predicts well the pressure rise and the maximum output pressure. <br>The experiment confirmedt hat the oil cylin d er is operated at pressure several times higher than that is generated by a pump.
