Abstract
Motion sickness caused by watching 3D movies has been measured by psychological and physiological methods. The simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ) is a well-known former method that is herein used for verifying the occurrence of visually induced motion sickness. We also measure the sway of the center of gravity of the human body before and during exposure to a 3D movie while subjects are instructed to remain in the Romberg posture for the first 60 s and maintain a wide stance (heels midlines 20 cm apart) for the next 60 s. While there are several minimal points of the temporally averaged potential function involved in the mathematical model of the sway, the wide stance reduces the gradient of the potential function.
