Abstract

By examining the effect of sound physical characteristics to the presence of sound, we can show an index to evaluate the presence of sound. Although there are various sound physical characteristics and various words to express sounds impression, we selected sampling frequency as a sound physical characteristic and "powerful" as a word to express impression related to "powerful" for the experiment this time. At audition of sound through headphone, we performed an experiment in which 16 participants heard 4 orchestra music and 4 environmental sounds and answered a questionnaire in order to clarify the difference of sampling frequency of sound affects the sound impression of power. As the result, it was confirmed that a certain kind of change of sampling frequency of sound affect the difference of impression evaluation related to "powerful."
