Description
Terrestrial broadcasts are difficult to receive in areas where their broadcast waves are obstructed by high buildings. In these areas, we installed a gap filler(GF)station and examined reception characteristics when a digital broadcast signal was re-transmitted from the GF station at the same frequency as that of the main station. For mobile reception, characteristics improved in the area radiated by the GF station. For stationary reception, however, waves transmitted from the GF station could make a disturbance, and several points of error occurrence came to exist. At these points, these errors could be avoided by pointing the receive antenna in the direction of the GF station.
