Description
A new structure CCD, in which two photodiodes are arranged under a micro lens, was developed. Each of the two photodiodes has a different size and a different sensitivity. A newly developed signal-processing algorithm is applicable to expand a dynamic range captured by the CCD up to four times wider. In this paper, we propose our new conceptual CCD. The performance of the CCD is described also.
