Description
A novel optical spectrum design for higher DWDM transmission of 60-GHz-band radio-on-fiber systems with square-like response fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) is proposed. Although the DSB-formatted fiber-radio signals are multiplexed with the spectral overlap and transmitted, each optical signal is recovered without any serious impact due to the interchannel interference. Since the fiber-radio signal becomes a single sideband (SSB) format at the same time of the dropping, there is no serious fiber-dispersion problem in the proposed scheme. Error-free DWDM transmission of two optical-frequency-interleaving 60-GHz fiber-radio signals with the FBG is also experimentally demonstrated.
