抄録

The growth patterns of the raw silk export, as well as economic factors influencing the alterations of the export, from the Ch'ing dynasty during its final 44 years, were analyzed on the basis of the customs' annual reports. The average growth rate of the export per year was 2.45%, much lower than the value of Japan (7.08%) for the same periods. The years investigated could be classified into active, stagnant and sluggish periods with respect to the amount of export. The major factors which influenced the annual and long-term alterations of the raw silk export depended upon the years or periods, and could be summarized into 6 items.
