抄録

To elucidate the mechanism of artificial hatching of the silkworm, Bombyx mori eggs by HCl-treatment, the distributions of Cl- in the eggshell and egg content were analysed using an ionchromatography and an X-ray analysis of a wavelength dispersive X-ray spectrometer. Cl- content was 2.8±0.2μg/egg immediately after the HCl-treatment and decreased to 0.52±0.04μg/egg after washing with tap water for 20min, being 65% higher than nontreated eggs. Cl- was localized evenly throughout the eggshell. HCl treatment did not affect on S distribution in eggshells but clearly decreased Ca2+. A low but significant accumulation of Cl- occurred in egg contents after HCl-treatment. The ions were mainly localized in the serosal cells.
