Abstract
We consider population property of the size curve of cocoon filament by the stochastic model, (measurement of the size)=(mean of the population)+(variate peculiar to the individual)+(error variate). Fitting polynomials of order 4 to the measurements of the size of each cocoon (measurement length 33.75 meters), the mean curve, the covariance and the correlation mtaices of the size curve of cocoon filaments are estimated for three races. The results show that the change of the variance and the correlation in and between different measurement points is represented reasonably by the stochastic model.
