Description

As a follow-up of the previous report (I), a study on the length of the cocoon filament to breakage (LTB), was carried out with filaments from a mixture of both dropped-end and non-dropped-end cocoons.<br>It was concluded that the distribution of LTB does not follow a simple mode but corresponds to at least, 2 types of distributions, each of which being expresed by the Weibull distribution. It was clearly demonstrated that the Mixed Weibull distribution was applicable to the 2 types of LTB distribution and also that the ‘instantaneous dropping-ends rate’ as well as ‘reliability function of LTB’ can be expressed by the Weibull distribution function of LTB.
