The incorporation of 32P-ciliatine into blood, liver and bile from 2 to 128 hr after the intravenous injection into growing Wistar rats was studied and the following results were obtained.<br> 1. 32P-ciliatine incorporation into blood decreased rapidly, and its rate into whole liver increased rapidly after 4_??_8 hr. The rate of 32P-ciliatine loss from liver nucleotides was approximately equal to the rate of 32P-ciliatine gain in liver lipid after 8_??_32 hr. These observations suggests that ciliatine in the rat body is rapidly incorporated into the liver, and the main precursor is CMP-ciliatine on the pathway of ciliatine incorporation into liver lipid.<br> 2. 32P-ciliatine incorporation into both whole bile and bile lipids fraction containing bile acids reached maximum after 20_??_28 hr. The percentage of incorporation into the latter to that into the former increased gradually and attained ca. 90% after 32 hr. These observations suggest that the portion of ciliatine incorporated into liver is taken into bile lipids and bile acids.
