Description

The aim of this study was to compare the workload of the combination work with the single work in terms of physiological and mental workload. The single work simulated a conveyer work method, and the combination work simulated a cell production method in the same way.
An experiment condition is four in total by one kind of single work and three kinds of combination work. Seven healthy students whose ages ranged from 21 to 24 years (average age : 22.5) were selected as the subjects. The subjects were performed for 90 min on each experimental task. Critical fusion frequency (CFF), pinch strength (PS), subjective assessment of fatigue (SA) and NASA-TLX (NASA) of these subjects were measured and compared before an experiment later to evaluate the workload.
The CFF and PS of the single work were significantly inferior compared to the combination work. NASA-TLX in the single work has high score of the monotonous feeling, on the other hand, the score of the combination work has high score of a feeling of time pressure. Furthermore, it is clear that a monotonous feeling is high in the score of SA in the single work. It was shown that the score of SA of the combination work reflected the characteristic of the content of each work.
It became clear that the workload of combination work was lower than the workload of single work, from both physiological and mental workload.
