Abstract
The hybrid coding which is used in standard H.264 is casual prediction. Thus, it only makes use of the correlation between encoded pixels and encoding pixels, while not encoded pixels can not be used. On the other hand, the non-causal technique is submitted as a new method of prediction. This paper compares the two prediction methods and analyzes the results.
