Description
Transcoding from the existing video coding standard to HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) will become one of the most important technology for the future video services. However, complexity reduction approach for HEVC encoding is required to realize the video transcoder with the practical speed, because of the huge computational cost of HEVC. In this paper, we propose a low-complexity decision mechanism of prediction unit size especially for video transcoding from H.264/AVC to HEVC.
