Description

Trypsin inhibitor was partially purified from the blood of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) by ammonium sulfate precipitation, Dowex-l×4 and DEAE-cellulose chromatography.<br> The inhibitor preparation obtained gave a single symmetrical peak with an S20, W of 4.5 S in ultracentrifugal analysis, one μg of the inhibitor inactivated 2.4 μg of trypsin.<br> The silkworm inhibitor rather resembled Ascaris inhibitor than such as soybean and ovomucoid inhibitor in that it was unstable in an acidic solution.
