Description

The purpose of this article is to review and evaluate Hino City Administration Library carrying out local administrative information service to citizen, administrative employees, members of local assembly. The Hino City Administration Library has provided local government publication to support self-government's administrative business and to secure citizen's freedom of information and been involved in management and preservation system of current/non-current administrative documents. As a result, currently the Hino City Administration Library is securing its position as an administrative data center or a local assembly library and a core information service agency in Hino's information provision policy. However, in management and preservation of administrative documents, there were limits in being involved as a library. What role can a public library play with an assignment which is preservation and service of non-current administrative documents managed by local government where archives are not installed? This question is one out of important assignments on which Hino City Administration Library should consider sincerely in the future.
