Abstract
The frequency of a laser diode has been stabilized to the transition of 87Sr+ ion 5s2S1/2-5p2P1/2 at 421.671nm using the modulation free differential detection of the 85Rb 5s2S1/2 F=3 -6p2Po1/2 F=2,3 transition. It is exploited to provide a laser fluorescence excitation source applied to 87Sr+ ions.
