This paper considers on information embedding methods in JPEG-LS coding, based on a information embedding method in JPEG-LS proposed by Mr. Takehisa etc.. The existing method by Mr. Takehisa etc. introduced a method to prevent increase of compression ratio by limiting a code length of a Golomb code for embedding, utilizing a 32bits' fixed length Golomb code of limited length Golomb codes specified in JPEG-LS. However, in practice, to set an appropriate limiting threshold value before embedding in advance is difficult. So, this paper proposes a method-A which can embed any embeddable bytes without using the threshold value, by improving the existing method. Also, this paper proposes a new method-B which represents a value differently by utilizing a modulo(256) reduction. Experimental results show that the proposed method-A is practically effective with a little increase of compression ratio compared with those by the existing method, and that the proposed method-B improves compression ratio of a small-size test image by so large as about 0.5bit/pel compared with that by the existing method.
