Abstract

There are two methodologies for the transfer path analysis (TPA). One of them is force-based TPA, which is theoretically clear and has been used widely. The other is acceleration-based TPA, which was recently proposed and of which software has been commercially released already. In this paper, structural vibration is focused on to investigate the meaning of the acceleration-based TPA firstly. Secondly, on the basis of the interpretation, the possibility of a new generalized method is referred to, where force and acceleration are both considered as system inputs. Lastly, the qualitative characteristics of input contributions calculated by the method are discussed and then shown using simple simulations.
