Experimental studies were performed on effects of emulsified fuel in a diesel engine. At high load, NOx and PM emissions were decreased by 41% and 74% compared to those of diesel fuel respectively. On the other hand, cooling loss and unburned fuel loss were increased and fuel consumption was increased at low load. These increases could be controlled by optimization of the pressure of fuel injection. Estimated emissions on NEDC mode indicated that the emulsified fuel has the potential to comply with Euro6 regulation.
