Description
Application of RBM to the steam turbine is described. The feature of the RBM in this application is based on the finance theory. The finance theory is applied to the quantitative risk analysis. This analysis can be conducted by numerical values of failure probability and consequence costs, which is calculated by NPV (Net Present Value) . This result of the assessment will provide the decision making support in the optimized maintenance procedure, that is, replacement or repair of the components. <br/>In this paper, RBM based on finance theory is applied to the aged low-pressure steam turbine rotor. The results of calculated quantitative RBM assessment is illustrated an optimized maintenance time and procedure by using the term of NPV.
