Description
Development of CTM (Chemical Transport Model) and its application are described with focusing on the treatment of cloud processes in cloud-resolving and non-cloud-resolving models. Results of the cloud-resolving model applied to transport and transformation of air pollutants associated with cloud formation over the Sea of Japan, and the non-cloud-resolving model used for acid deposition in East Asia are presented. Furthermore, as a model application, contribution of long range transport from East Asian continental countries vs. local photochemical production to ozone peak concentration in the urban area of Central Japan on the Pacific rim are numerically examined.
