Description
It is well know there are various kinds of intersection line shapes of two oblique intersecting cylinders. In this paper, these shapes are classified in detail using Hyper Talk as a computer language. As a result of analysis, it is found that there are eight different shapes for intersection line of two oblique intersecting cylinders. These shapes are described as leaf shapes and are classified into the following eight shapes, 1. Four leaves connected at two knots, 2. Two leaves connected at a back knot and tilted to the right side, 3. Two leaves connected at a back knot and tilted to the left side, 4. Two leaves connected at a front knot and tilted to the right side, 5. Two leaves connected at a front knot and tilted to the left side, 6. One leaf (like a saddle) 7. Two independent leaves (right tilted) 8. Two independent leaves (left tilted) . These relationships are summarized in a table. If the intersecting conditions of how the traces of the limiting planes intersect both cylinder are known, the table can provide the intersection line shape.
