Description
This study focused on the effect of large scale retail shops on shopping behavior and place attachment. Place attachment would affect people's attitude toward community activity and public behavior that may have substantial effects on the content of public works. In spite of such importance, influence for place attachment has not yet well studied in planning of public works. We conducted survey in two Japanese local cities, when before and after opening of large scale retail shops. The result implied that the large scale store affect shopping frequency at other small scale shops and department store, and place attachment.
