Description
In this study, vehicle behaviors at startup, passage and stop at the intersection are compared between the intersection with the separated signal control for pedestrians and the intersection with usual signal control. The result shows that the intersection with the separated signal control for pedestrians have higher risk for vehicle to vehicle accident, because drivers tend to predict the change of traffic signal in order to change their behavior smoothly. It is also found that the difference of signal phase compared to the intersection with usual signal control makes drivers confuse in deciding their behavior and this brings risky situations.
