Description

For obtaining the scientific grounds of therapeutic tool of physical therapy, we have investigated the F wave of thirteen normal subjects (six males and seven females average age 21.9±2.7 years old) at static condition. The F wave was obtained by stimulating the right median nerve at the wrist. Each average result of F responses was as follows: degree of the wave appearance; 66.8±18.9%, peak to peak amplitude; 0.27±0.19mV, F/M ratio of the amplitude; 1.81±0.81%, onset latency; 25.20±1.38msec, duration; 9.40±1.04msec, conduction velocity; 61.1±2.90m/sec, and phase; 3.67±0.08. Our results were in well accord with those of other investigators, leaving a few problems in measuring methods for F/M ratio of the amplitude and duration. Those results indicated no significant difference between the sexes.
