Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to examine the process of the individual assessment interviews between the psychologists and the juveniles in the juvenile classification home in terms of the intersubjective approach. Using the qualitative research method, this study discusses that various personal experiences are reminded and emotions are evoked in the psychologists' mind by the interactions with the juveniles, and the psychologists carry out the assessment with recognizing and monitoring such personal factors. On the other hand, they attend the session with the hope that they want to support the juveniles. Based on such attitude, the juveniles have the positive impression to the psychologist, and feel safe in the session. The assessment in the juvenile classification home cannot be effective, without taking into consideration the intersubjective interaction between the psychologists and the juveniles because such interaction is projected into the assessment.
