Description
We have developed a compact, lightweight laser range finder system using Q-switched erbium doped fiber laser with peak power of 600W at a repetition frequency of 1kHz. The system can measure the distance between overhead transmission lines and a tree top 300m away with an accuracy of ± 0.2m. This is a commercial version of a system which has been jointly developed by The Kansai Electric Power Inc. and Sumitomo Electric Industries, LTD.
