Spectra of M/e 2843 have been investigated in connection with the preceding experiments[This journal 4, 294 (1955)] and faiiowing results were obtained. (1). Organic compounds showimgpeaks at M/e 2831 (No. 2, Group b) are divided into two groups, with the exception of hydrocarbons, of showing the maximum at M/e 31 (mainly primary alcohols) and others with the maximum at M/e 29, in which either of them indicated N-pattern. (2). The peaks of M/e 3639 (No. 3, Group a) obtained by using pattern exponent (a logarithmic peak ratio, M/e 36 =pP36, and all following expressions are made in the same way) of M/e39 as a standard to give -1/2 pP36_??_-pP37_??_0.71.2, pP37<pP38, and an approximate classification of the compounds is made possible by this mean. (3). Compounds which gave peak at M/e 4043 (No. 3, Group b) showed C·C·C link when M/e 43 was in the form of the maximum N-pattern, and that of showing ascending pattern indicated to be C·O·C (or C·C·O) linkage. Among compounds with C:C·C linkage, M/e 41 showed especially larger value. CEC Model 21-103A Mass Spectrometer was used in this experiment.
