Abstract
Immunopathological study of the salivary and lacrymal glands of SD-rats which inoculated with DNA antigen once a week over a period of ten months was attempted. Histopathological observation revealed manifestation of the lesion with infiltration or proliferation of numerous lymphocytes in the group treated after six months of final inoculation, but no change was seen in the group collected the spesimens after one week of the inoculation. The lymphocytes mainly consisted of nonhelper T cell and other immune competent cell such as B-cell and helper T cell barely observed in the lesion.<BR>It was considered that ADCC and cytotoxic factor by the lymphocyte population were related to the glandular cell injuries. From the nature of lymphocyte subset, it was indicated that non-helper T cell subset which possesed Fc receptor to IgG held principal position to the salivary and lacrymal tissue injuries by ADCC and cytotoxic factor.
