Abstract

Using commercial serodiagnostic kits, IgG antibody to Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) was detected at high titers in 98% of pigs in one region of Hokkaido, while 0% in another region. In dogs and cats examined, antibody was detected in 58% and 83%, respectively. The antibody titres were higher in older dogs, but no agedependent difference in titers was seen in cats. The results were well correlated between two serodiagnostic kits (GAPTM-IgG and Pyloriset Dry).
