Abstract

A 13-year-old, castrated dog of mixed breed was referred for a primary complaint of a massin the medial side of the left upper lid. Computed tomography images revealed bone lysis and a space occupying lesion (1.6×1.9cm) associated with osteogenesis arising from the left orbit. Histologically, a chondrosarcoma was diagnosed. The dog was treated with alternating doses of doxorubicin and carboplatin every three weeks in conjunction with oral piroxicam. The mass gradually decreased at one week until it clinically disappeared. After the third dose of doxorubicin, the treatment was stopped at the owner's request. No signs of recurrence or metastases have been found after more than two years.
