Description

Five species of lepocreadiid trematodes from marine fishes of Palau are reported. Species previously known is Multitestis pyriformis MANTER, 1963 from Platax orbicularis. A new subfamily Deraiotrematinae is erected and three new genera, Neopreptetos, Deraiotrema and Neomultitestis, are created. Four new species are described: Neopreptetos arusettae from Arusetta xanthometopon and A. sexstriatus, Deraiotrema platacis from Platax orbicularis, Multitestis elongatus from Platax orbicularis, and Neomultitestis palauensis from Platax orbicularis. It is thought reasonable that Multitestis bengalensis MADHAVI, 1972 is transferred to the genus Neomultitestis as a result of the reexamination on this species.
