Abstract

Current status of the taxonomy of the caridean shrimp family Glyphocrangonidae (Crustacea: Decapoda) is reviewed. At present 77 named species are known world wide, all of which inhabit deep-water greater than 200m. In spite of the recent taxonomic studies, there are still many taxonomic problems to be clarified, some of which are presented here. Geographical distribution of species of the family is briefly discussed.
