Abstract
Using of an apparatus with an electromagnetic flowmeter, a method was devised for the direct measurement of ventilation volume in the pen shell, Atrina (Servatrina) lischkeana. This method was tested under conditions of water temperature increase (20-32°C) or salinity decrease 34-22 psu or oxygen partial pressure decrease (156-2 mmHg or less) and was proven to be considerably useful for sensitively measuring the ventilation volume at actual response time over a prolonged period (2-4 days) .
