抄録

Effects of low salinity on ventilation volume, ciliary movement and survival ratio were examined in the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas. At 12 and 20°C, ventilation volumes decreased as the salinity declined, and showed 0 l/min/kg at 19 psu. At 12 and 20°C, the transportation velocity of a piece of vinyl film put on the gill surface were constant until the salinity decreased from 35 to 25 psu, but decereased to 80% at 20 psu and to 0 mm/min at 8 psu. The survival rate showed 100% for 10 days at 20 psu or above, but decreased from the 9th day at 15 psu, and from the 4th day at 10 psu and 5 psu.
