Abstract

A 19-month-old male Border Collie was referred for chronic cough and intermittent hemoptysis. A computed tomography (CT) scan of the chest revealed an air crescent sign, which results in air surrounded by radiopaque material along both its inner and outer margins, in a cavitary lesion in the left caudal lung lobe. Furthermore, a histological section obtained using CT-guided lung biopsy revealed fungal hyphae. Therefore, the animal was diagnosed with canine pulmonary aspergilloma. Antifungal therapy and lobectomy improved the dog's clinical course. Aspergillus fumigatus was isolated from resected specimens and confirmed by performing a histological test.<br>
