We made an attempt to research on the pyramid surface of Vickers impression by means of interference microphotograph. As the result, the surface of the rolled pure Al is more convex than that of the annealed one. The height of a top in the convex surface is about 0.8μ for the rolled test piece under 30kg load, and 0.4μ for the annealed one under 20kg load. On the other hand, the surface of the test piece is swelled near the impression. Testing the surface by a surface tester, we know that the surface is more swelled at the position between the corners of the impression than at the corner.
