Prosthodontics is the one of major dental study fields to restore tooth substance defects and replace missing tooth structures by means of artificial materials. In this review, optical coherence tomography (OCT)-related researches in the field of prosthodontics were searched from MEDLINE, Igaku Chuo Zasshi and related papers. It could be found the OCT-related researches about implants, crown, removable denture, post core build-up and optical impressions. The advantages and limitations of using OCT to observe dental hard tissues were discussed after viewing OCT nondestructive images of post core build-up teeth. At the end, in hope of helping the development of OCT, its applications in the prosthodontic treatment were considered.
